Post installation - Little bit more on HDInsight

So we have installed HDInsight server.

So, I went ahead and downloaded HDInsight using Microsoft Web Platform Installer. I am using Windows 8 Enterprise. I don’t think anything would be different on Window 7 but I haven’t tried too. Give a try on Windows 7 if you have and let me know.

After installing successfully (Python etc.), you would see several services running. If not, you should should start those services.

You would also find new web sites in IIS 7.5

So far so good. On my desktop, 4 shortcuts were created.

1. Hadoop Command Line

3. Hadoop MapReduce Status (http://localhost:50030/jobtracker.jsp)

4. Microsoft HDInsight Dashboard (http://localhost:8085/)

If you verified your installation and reached to this point, you are ready to rock :-)
